New batteries to power the new Scooter, Scooter Sport and Scooter X

New batteries are in the pipeline for the new Honda CR1632 scooter and scooter sport models.

Honda Motorcycle Company (HMC) has confirmed that the batteries will be manufactured by LG Chem and are expected to be on the market by the end of the year.

The battery pack, which will be used in both the Honda CRX and CR1630 scooters, is a 4.4-kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack with an output of 4500w, and the new CR1631 is the same size and has a battery pack capacity of 5200w.HMC has been keen to move away from battery cells in the past, and it has always had its eye on the battery market, with the introduction of the CRX battery in 2016, and now the new models.

The CR1633, which is a 3.8-kilonewatt battery pack that is designed to use a battery cell, is expected to arrive in the second half of 2020.HMCC has been looking at batteries for the CR16 models for several years, and last year it said it would use lithium-polymer (LiPo) batteries as a storage option.

But the company had been reluctant to move from LiPo batteries in favour of lithium-nickel (LiN) for several reasons.

One of these was that the lithium-N batteries have higher internal resistance than the LiPo ones.

Another was that they tend to be more expensive to produce, with battery production costs typically rising around 1 per cent a year.

Hmcc has said it will now concentrate on battery production in a new way.

This will include a focus on improving the performance of the battery pack in order to lower the price of the new batteries.HMG has announced that the battery cells for the ScooterX, Scooters X, and Scooters Sport models will be made from 3,500w LiPo, and they will have a capacity of 4,000w.
